Local Youngster Wins T-Shirt Design Contest for Professional Sporting EventBig Brothers Big Sisters Amachi Missouri to Benefit
As the Tour of Missouri, a seven day, elite professional cycling race crossing the state from September 8-14, gets ready to roll; one Missouri youth is celebrating a triumph of her own. Fifth grader Jailene Aragon of St. Charles submitted the winning design for a race t-shirt which will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters Amachi Missouri.
“I first learned about the contest through my Big Sister Linda. And, since I really like to ride my bike too, I thought it’d be a fun way to do something good and be a part of the race in my own way,” said 10-year old Jailene.
Casadula Mondanaldo, Jailene’s mother is proud of her. “We are so excited her drawing was selected, “she said. “We’re happy for her, but equally delighted to know that the shirts will benefit such a great organization.”
The shirts are $10 a piece and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters Amachi Missouri. Shirts are available online at www.tourofmissouri.com and also at events along the 600+ mile race route.
